Klitsa Tutoring

Subsidized Tutoring Program

The financial restrictions cause by Covid 19 will force Literacy Alberni & Klitsa Tutoring to limit the number of people and tutoring hours available through subsidy.
Please contact our office to make an appointment with the Program Coordinator to discuss your tutoring and financial options.

Klitsa Tutoring’s Subsidized Tutoring Program was launched in January 2017.

Clients who are eligible for funding can have between 50% and 100% of weekly tutoring costs covered through the program. Eligibility will be based on household income, and will apply only to the school year during which the application was made (applications must be renewed at the beginning of every school year).

To apply for partially or fully funded tutoring, new clients can ask to fill out a subsidy application at the time of their intake meeting with the Program Coordinator, or print the KT Subsidy Application Form and bring it to the intake meeting.

Steps to

Applying for Subsidized Tutoring

  1. Call 778-421-0031 to speak with the Klitsa Tutoring Program Coordinator to book an intake meeting.
  2. At your intake meeting, ask to fill out a KT Subsidy Application Form (or bring your completed application with you to your intake meeting).
  3. Provide proof of household income if requested to help determine your eligibility (CRA Notice of Assessment, or other proof of income).
  4. Applications are processed by the Subsidy Committee, and will take no longer than the usual wait-time for regular scheduling (2-10 days, depending on demand for tutoring hours and tutor availability).
  5. Applicants will be notified by the Program Coordinator regarding the subsidy request decision and what the next steps will be.
